Our Field Support Engineering Team provide a range of services including PAT or Portable Appliance Testing for electrical equipment in offices, vehicles, retail units, industry, care homes, rented property etc.

PAT Testing is important for the following reasons:

The Law says "It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees" and "As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger."
Every employer must therefore ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair.
Landlords of rented property, care homes, hospitals, etc, where electrical equipment is provided for use by the tenants/residents/patients must, by law, ensure that the equipment is 'safe, well-maintained and suitable for the purpose for which it is being used'.
Public halls, concert venues, etc will often not accept bookings unless the performers can present an up-to-date PAT Testing Certificate.
Most insurance companies refuse to provide cover if an organisation is unable to provide evidence of having had PAT Testing carried out.
